SCYA MidWinters

The SCYA MidWinters is sponsored by the Southern California Yachting Association. This event is the most unique regatta held anywhere in the world. SCYA Clubs from Santa Barbara, south to San Diego and east to Arizona, hundreds of volunteers will make it possible for over 600 boats with crew numbering in the thousands to participate. More than 30 racing venues will be hosted by individual SCYA member clubs. Classes include one-design, PHRF, Cruiser, Juniors, Masters, and Seniors, inshore, offshore, and model boats. This Regatta allows individual Yacht Clubs to feature specific races and to get sailors from other Yacht Clubs to participate in a more combined and quality race against the best sailors in Southern California.

Each entrant must be a member of a yacht club or sailing association belonging to the Southern California Yachting Association (SCYA), US SAILING, the Southern California Cruiser Association (SCCA), or the American Model Yacht Association (AMYA).

The racing area is typically in the harbor north of the main dock of Newport Harbor Yacht Club and consists of several windward/leeward races. Awards are presented on the final day of the series.

This is typically a Fleet 1 2-Day High Point Event.
